An interesting take on current events that is about 2 1/2 hours long. Are the producers of this film laughably insane or terrifyingly accurate?

In his 2008 bestseller, "Wealth, War and Wisdom," hedge fund manager Barton Biggs warns that investors must "assume the possibility of a breakdown of the civilized infrastructure."
And to prepare for a breakdown of civilization, "your safe haven must be self-sufficient and capable of growing some kind of food ... It should be well-stocked with seed, fertilizer, canned food, wine, medicine, clothes, etc." Bloomberg Markets suggested that by "etc." he meant guns, as Biggs added "a few rounds over the approaching brigands' heads would probably be a compelling persuader that there are easier farms to pillage." That warning's not from a hippie radical. Biggs was a respected Wall Street guru at Morgan Stanley for 30 years. As the chief global strategist Institutional Investor magazine put him on its "All-America Research Team" 10 times. Smart Money said: "Biggs is without question the premier prognosticator on the international scene and a mover of markets from Argentina to Hong Kong." More>>> Wednesday, July 15

After two days of hearings for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, it appears that her strategy for confirmation is to contradict herself at every turn. She spent much of yesterday claiming not to have meant the things she actually said or not to have ruled the way she actually ruled. For the first time, therefore, it is not just her judgment but also her integrity that is in question. More>>> Saturday, July 11

Two-thirds of the nation's attorneys general have filed a "friend of the court" brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case of NRA v. Chicago and hold that the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments through the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. This bi-partisan group of 33 attorneys general, agrees with the NRA's position that the Second Amendment protects a fundamental individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms in the home for self-defense, disagreeing with the decision recently issued by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. "The historical record clearly shows that the Second Amendment was intended to apply to every American in every state in the country," said NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox. "As the Supreme Court said clearly in last year's landmark Heller decision, the Second Amendment protects an individual right that 'belongs to all Americans'. Two-thirds of America's state attorneys general agree." More>>>

Sonia Sotomayor will begin her confirmation hearings next week with some of the highest levels of public opposition of any Supreme Court nominee in the last two decades, according to a new poll by the CNN and the Opinion Research Corporation. In fact, only one nominee had a higher level of opposition: Harriet Miers, who was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005. Miers later withdrew her nomination under questions about her qualifications from both the political left and right. (Are you listening, GOP senators? - Roland) More>>> Thursday, May 28

Sotomayor “is one of only three federal appellate judges in America to issue a court opinion saying that the Second Amendment does not apply to states,” warns Former Ohio secretary of state and gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell. Citing the Maloney v. Cuomo case, Blackwell concludes, “that means if Chicago, or even the state of Illinois or New York, wants to ban you from owning any guns at all, even in your own house, that’s okay with her.” (H/t: Semra) More>>> Wednesday, May 27

With Liberty and Tyranny, Levin turns on a bright light in the darkness that conservatives find themselves in. While we’re living through a crisis of confidence, Levin leads by sharing what he’s learned about the land he loves through years of political, policy, and legal experience and study. “I do not have all the answers,” he writes, with an honest humility that conservatism and public policy and politics could use more of. Levin does not claim to be the “referee” among conservatives. And he doesn’t feel the need to remake conservatism in his own image. He has simply written a book on conservatism for people who want to know it still exists, should exist, needs to exist, and remains relevant to their lives. In Liberty and Tyranny Levin offers advice for every American, encouraging parents and grandparents to raise young patriots, “a generation of new conservatives,” “to believe in and appreciate the principles of the American civil society and stress the import of preserving and improving the society.” What he offers in Liberty and Tyranny is both educational and concrete. Liberty and Tyranny provides a blueprint for conservative action with ideas on taxation, immigration, and more. As a call to conservative action, Levin writes in his final chapter: “Republicans seem clueless on how to slow, contain, and reverse the Statist’s agenda. They seem to fear returning to first principles, lest they be rejected by the electorate, and so prefer to tinker ineffectively and timidly on the edges. As such, are they not abandoning what they claim to support?” This is something Mark Levin cannot be accused of. More>>> Friday, May 22

President Obama on Thursday defended his counterterrorism policies from critics on the right by appealing to the nation's founding values in a speech delivered in front of the Constitution that was by turns fiery, analytical and sober, and also defended his left flank by arguing he is not continuing President Bush's policies as much as untangling a "mess" he inherited. The state of Montana has drawn a line in the sand...In an era in which the administration of President Barack Obama is replete with anti-gun activists in influential positions, including an attorney general who supported a complete handgun ban in the District of Columbia before it was tossed by the U.S. Supreme Court, Montana's move is being called nothing less that revolutionary. The legislative plan, signed recently by Gov. Brian Scheitzer, a Democrat, is called, "An Act exempting from federal regulation under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution of the United States a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured and retained in Montana." The plan cites the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that "guarantees to the states and their people all powers not granted to the federal government elsewhere in the Constitution and reserves to the state and people of Montana certain powers as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. Well, one cannot be surprised to see this Bill come to the House of Representatives. When Democrats took control of congress in 2006 and began setting up their plans, waiting for a Democrat in the White House who would sign their legislation, those who were watching knew gun control would not be far behind any socialist spending spree they got away with. Now here it is: HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. So far, this legislation is flying under the radar, and Democrats in Congress are hoping that it remains that way. This bill is an underhanded attempt to eliminate the constitutional right to ownership of Firearms. It would require that all gun owners be licensed. It requires a thumb print, a universal background check, a Passport quality photo. More>>> Sunday, April 26

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, announced last week that she wants to register guns. Her next move will be to try to confiscate them. The speaker picked a television show with a viewership of 4.6 million to float the Democrats' coming gun-control push. Liberals tolerate rallies on behalf of cop-killers, but they prohibit law-abiding citizens working at community centers in Binghamton, N.Y., from being armed to defend themselves from disturbed, crack-addicted America-haters like Jiverly Wong. It's something in liberals' DNA: They think they can pass a law eliminating guns and nuclear weapons, but teenagers having sex is completely beyond our control. The demand for more gun control in response to any crime involving a gun is exactly like Obama's response to North Korea's openly belligerent act of launching a long-range missile this week: Obama leapt to action by calling for worldwide nuclear disarmament. Marcus Luttrell is the lone survivor of Operation Red Wing; a special forces operation that took place on June 28th 2005 in Afghanistan’s Kunar province. The seals mission was to kill or capture Ahmad Shah, a high ranking Taliban official responsible for numerous killings in the region. Marcus Luttrell and three of his seal team members were ambushed by 150 Taliban fighters with Luttrell being the only survivor. It seems that four young good for nothings had been killing dogs in Marcus Luttrell’s county where he lives in Texas. And as terrible luck would have it ( terrible luck for them), the last dog they decided to kill belonged to Marcus Luttrell. As Glen Beck tells the story on his radio program this morning, these thugs should be thanking God that Marcus Luttrell knew how to show restraint when he single handedly, armed of course, apprehended the four. Marcus Luttrell’s dog was named Dasy; each letter in DASY represents his fallen seal team member’s names. He was given the dog during his recovery period after sustaining horrific wounds that none of us could ever imagine. Marcus Luttrell was awarded the “Navy Cross” and the “Purple Heart” for his heroic actions in Operation Red Wing. More>>>

There may good reasons for deploying the National Guard along the U.S.-Mexican border, but illegal firearms isn't one of them. The administration recently launched a study to examine whether soldiers should patrol the Southern border to staunch the flow of firearms headed for drug dealers in Latin America. The silence you hear is the concern about armed drug gangs headed here. In short, the administration seems more concerned about the guns going south... More>>> Saturday, March 14

Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us. They really do not believe you need anything more than a brick to defend your home and family. Look at the list and see how many you own. Remember, it is registration, then confiscation. It has happened in the UK, in Australia, in Europe, in China, and what they have found is that for some reason the criminals do not turn in their weapons, but will know that you did. Remember, the first step in establishing a dictatorship is to disarm the citizens. (Maintaining the right to possess our firearms has nothing to do with sport hunting. It has EVERYTHING to do with the right to defend hearth, home, and country from criminals...including would-be dictators. -Roland) (H/t: Semra) The list>>> Monday, March 2

Privacy advocates are issuing warnings about a new radio chip plan that ultimately could provide electronic identification for every adult in the U.S. and allow agents to compile attendance lists at anti-government rallies simply by walking through the assembly. The proposal, which has earned the support of Janet Napolitano, the newly chosen chief of the Department of Homeland Security, would embed radio chips in driver's licenses, or "enhanced driver's licenses." Back in late September, when my bank stocks began to tank — slowly, then all at once, as Hemingway described going broke — another wall in my life began to crack, as rumors of break-ins rattled my peaceful neighborhood in Allentown, Pa.
