Nicolas Sarkozy saved the President of Georgia from a threat by Vladimir Putin to depose him from power and "hang him by the balls," according to an account that emerged today from the Elysée Palace. The Russian Prime Minister told the French President of his plans for deposing the Tbilisi government and disposing of President Saakashvili when the French leader was in Moscow last August to broker a cease-fire in Georgia. From our Lady Truthache: "I saw this advertised on Fox and honestly thought it was satire. Apparently the coins are a lot like Obama...a shiny new exterior covering a fake and worthless interior." Tuesday, November 11

One startling image formerly posted to MSNBC.com. The Image shows Obama waving to his supporters, presumably at his acceptance speech. The image is focused on Obama and in the distance behind him, out of focus, are one of the “jumbotron” type TV monitors that were at the event. In the monitor it looks eerily as if Obama has a bullet wound to his head with blood streaking down the side of his face. Posted above is the un-retouched photo snapped from the web page, which has since been taken down from the site. I really can’t explain what would cause this as it looks like there’s nothing between him and the camera for the jumbotron. (Hat Tip Critical Reactor)

Otzi, Italy's prehistoric "iceman," probably does not have any modern-day descendants, according to a study published Thursday. A team of Italian and British scientists who sequenced his mitochondrial DNA -- which is passed down through the mother's line -- found that Otzi belonged to a genetic lineage that is either extremely rare or has died out.
