The United States Air Force is embarked on a new and fundamentally different approach to shaping its force structure. For the first time in its nearly 60-year history, USAF has adopted a comprehensive roadmap that sets out the preferred size, number, and composition of all of its operational forces

Not sure about "battlefield airmen" calling in ground strike positions. Hasn't the army been successfully training specialists to meet that requirement for some time now? I also can't see funding for all of this as long as congressmen are controlling the purse strings. How does all of this fingure into the next BRAC committee cuts?
