Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh issued a vague warning on Friday that Hamas would reassess its options if economic sanctions were not lifted on the Palestinian unity government within two to three months.
Haniyeh did not say what the Islamic group would do if his timeline was not met, but a top aide, Ghazi Hamad, said dissolving the unity government was not an option.

FOX commentator Juliet Huddy got angry with me when I advanced this argument, saying that even if the fathers earn little money they still have the responsibility to support their kids. I agree, of course, but I explained that because so many low-income men are trapped in the system, obviously the system must be demanding more money than these men are able to earn. Juliet was unmoved.

on Fri 30 Mar 2007 06:16 PM EDT

The civil rights lawsuit, filed earlier this month, has so alarmed some lawyers that they are offering to defend the unnamed "John Doe" passengers free of charge. They say it is vital that the flying public be able to report suspicious behavior without fear of being dragged into court.
"When you drive up the road towards the airport, there's a big road sign that says, `Report suspicious behavior,'" said Gerry Nolting, a Minneapolis lawyer. "There's no disclaimer that adds, `But beware if you do that, you might get sued.'"

Why Feminists think women are helpless victims
by
The Bartender
on Fri 30 Mar 2007 04:17 PM EDT

The Feminists of the boomer years seem to be more Marxist than Feminists, insisting that women are victims, men are the enemy, and hyperventillating or fainting when someone tells a dirty joke or, as Lawrence Summers found out, tries to point out that neurobiological development rather than victimhood might be the reason for the lack of females in the sciences.

Ron Paul, the Real Republican?
by
The Bartender
on Fri 30 Mar 2007 03:43 PM EDT

When you read about a vote in Congress that goes something like 412-1, odds are pretty good that the sole "nay" came from Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas. He so consistently votes against widely popular bills, in fact, that the Washington Post recently gave him the moniker "Congressman 'No.'"
Paul isn't a reflexive contrarian--he doesn't oppose just to oppose. Rather, he has a core set of principles that guide him. They happen to be the same principles envisioned by the framers of the U.S. Constitution: limited government, federalism, free trade and commerce -- with a premium on peace.

Brussels officials have confirmed the existence of a classified handbook which offers "non-offensive" phrases to use when announcing anti-terrorist operations or dealing with terrorist attacks.
Banned terms are said to include "jihad", "Islamic" or "fundamentalist".
