Following Thompson, who took 32.2% of all votes cast, were Newt Gingrich with 17.6% and Tom Tancredo with 10.2%. The presumptive GOP front-runners, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani came in 4th and 5th place pulling 10.1% and 7.2% of the vote respectively while John McCain placed 12th with 1.7% of the vote.

A new category of drug has shown promising results for HIV/AIDS patients who failed to respond to other treatments, a study to be published Saturday shows.
Especially when combined with other medications, raltegravir -- the first in a new class of anti-retroviral drugs called integrase inhibitors -- dramatically reduced the presence of the HIV virus and boosted immunity in clinical-trial patients, according to the study in the British journal The Lancet.

Retinal implants can restore some vision to blind or partially blind people by taking over the job of turning light into signals transmitted to the brain. So far, about 10 people in Germany and 15 in the US have been fitted with such implants although expanded US trials are planned.
