Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake. Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period.

Employee error could be to blame for a $12,864.51 energy bill a Lufkin man received this past week, according to a TXU Energy spokeswoman. Leeland Temple, who lives in a 14- by 60-foot trailer house on Post Oak Road, said he was in disbelief when he opened up the bill, which stated his electricity would be cut off if the amount wasn't paid by May 3.
