Police detained gay rights activists, among them European lawmakers, as they tried to present a letter to Moscow's mayor Sunday in a demonstration that also attracted a hostile crowd of people who punched and threw eggs at the activists.

 

The letter, signed by some 40 European lawmakers, appealed the city's ban on a march that would have taken place Sunday to mark the 14th anniversary of Russia decriminalizing homosexuality.

View Article  Would the Associated Press be so callous as to use American dead in this manner, as a political tool? ...... Nah! Not the Associated Press.

The AP story leads with the number of new graves opened for dead American soldiers since Memorial Day last, but only those killed in Iraq.  Why this slight? Are the dead in Afghanistan not worthy of respect in the eyes of the Associated Press?  It is possible that this article is not about honoring the dead at all, or even about reporting the news, but just another thinly veiled editorial attack on the Bush administration?  Would the Associated Press be so callous as to use American dead in this manner, as a political tool? (Hat Tip to JulesCrittenden.com)

Rolley said he is paying tribute to all veterans by wearing his American Legion hat, but the he said that didn’t' go over well with his bosses at the Gwinnett County Transit Authority.

Rolley said patriotic hats have been allowed in the past, and Santa hats are allowed at Christmastime, so he doesn't understand why the rules have changed.
