In an especially grisly incident Sunday, Hamas militants kidnapped an officer in a Fatah-linked security force, took him to the roof of a 15-story apartment building and threw him off. Mohammed Sweirki, 25, from the Presidential Guard of President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah, was killed in the plunge.
And just before midnight, a Hamas activist was thrown off the 12th floor of a building and killed, security officials said. Four other Hamas men in the building were shot and wounded, bringing the day's toll to three dead and 36 wounded, medical officials said.

Our taxes now pay for most AZ births
by

More than half of Arizona's babies are
born under the state health plan for the poor — a positive trend, in the view
of public-health experts, while others see it as a drain on taxpayers.
The trend follows recent
policy changes that allow more individuals and families to qualify for free or
low-cost care, as well as the ever-increasing costs of private health
insurance.
It also reflects the fact
that Hispanics — the group most likely to be poor and least likely to have
private health insurance — are having more babies than any other group in Arizona.

Ask a liberal and he will say that while he opposes the war, he supports the troops. Once again, as your humble servant, I will show that liberals’ actions to not align with their words. As these soldier-hating liberals oppose the war, they expose their real hatred of the soldier.

Another former U.S. Border
Patrol agent is due to start a prison term on Monday – this man sentenced for a
typographical error that he reported to authorities himself so that the
situation could be corrected, according to a new report from Friends of the
Border Patrol.
And the case bears
similarities to the recent case involving two other Border Patrol agents – Jose
Compean and Ignacio Ramos – sentenced to prison for shooting at a drug smuggler
as he fled back into Mexico, leaving behind hundreds of pounds of drugs he'd
brought into the U.S., said Andy Ramirez, chairman of the FOBP.
For example, the prosecutor
who handled both cases against Ramos and Compean and Noe Aleman was U.S.
Attorney Johnny Sutton, and the judge was Kathleen Cardone.

Failure is not an option

With the school year almost
done, the pressure for marks is on – and not just for students, but also
teachers.
A growing chorus of
educators say Queen's Park's new drive to keep kids in school to 18 is pushing
them to coddle students with inflated marks, too many second, third and fourth
chances and too few flunking grades, adding to an already lofty sense of
entitlement.

What is a hate crime?
by

What happened to Channon
Christian and Christopher Newsom, a young Knoxville
couple out on an ordinary Saturday night date, was undeniably brutal. The two
were carjacked, kidnapped, raped and finally murdered during an ordeal of unimaginable
terror in January.
But whether the attack was a racial hate crime worthy of national media
attention is another question, one that has now ignited a fierce dispute over
the definition of hate crimes and how the mainstream media choose to cover
America's most discomfiting interracial attacks.
