View Article  'Single-gender' education gains ground even as it leaves boys lagging behind

The educators, citing emerging brain research, say that the two sexes learn differently and that schools are more geared to girls than to their ants-in-the-pants counterparts. But they are adopting strategies to help boys succeed, from playing multiplication baseball to handing out stress balls and setting up boys-only schools.

Muslim leaders in Metro Detroit have decided not to raise private money to pay for two footbaths at a local college campus now that the American Civil Liberties Union has said the plan doesn't pose constitutional problems.

The University of Michigan-Dearborn's plan to spend $25,000 on the footbaths was criticized on conservative blogs and radio shows this month. Critics said using public money for the project would violate the First Amendment, which says governments can't favor or subsidize religions.

Before you believe any of the promises to keep the government's word THIS TIME see the eerily parallel quotes from the 1986 debate.

There is a dramatically better and simpler alternative. It will lead to fewer people being in America illegally. It will lead to a nation confident that its laws will be enforced. It will signal the world that you can come to America legally but you will not be able to come illegally. It will signal to every American that their uniquely American civilization will be renewed and strengthened.

This approach is far better than the Bush-Kennedy-McCain bill.

Yup, that's how the Muslim world--and Pitt and Jolie--see America: bizarre, drooling torturers in sunglasses, lesbian FBI agents, and big-nosed, bespectacled Jews who dominate the media.

The problem with the film is that the Jolie-Pitts do have judgment--against us and not the terrorists or their Islam--and that they have very selective understanding--lenience only for those, ie., Muslims, who hate Jews and hate Americans, looking for that tiny fringe of moderation that's barely on the far, outer margin.

View Article  Hell Freezes Over, BBC Admits it Has a Liberal Bias....
I'm still rubbing my eyes in shock here. Everyone knows it, but for the BBC to actually admit it (for the most part), is the most shocking aspect of this.  Next up, the NY Times?  Just kidding, we all know that will never happen....

BBC 'must become more impartial'

The BBC needs to make greater efforts towards impartiality, according to a report commissioned by the corporation.
It accused the BBC of breaking its own guidelines by screening an episode of The Vicar of Dibley which promoted the Make Poverty History campaign.

The report also quoted former political editor Andrew Marr, who said the BBC has an "innate liberal bias".

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the slaughter in Darfur was triggered by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the horizon, in an article published Saturday.

"The Darfur conflict began as an ecological crisis, arising at least in part from climate change," Ban said in a Washington Post opinion column.

Feinstein appears to think that opposition to her imperial Senatorial will is racist and threatening.  Lott can't stand the fact that the wisdom of the imperial Senate is being questioned by the likes of serfs like you and me.  And Bush equates opposition to giving amnesty to 12 million people who have broken our laws as "one little aspect" of an otherwise fine bill.  In other words, by opposing this bill, you are being anti-Hispanic.

View Article  Steyn: Immigration bill is a fraud

I forget where I was when I first heard the phrase ''undocumented worker.'' Possibly it was after swimming the Rio Grande and emerging dripping on the northern shore to be handed a fake Social Security number and a driver's license. But I assumed, reasonably enough, that this linguistic sleight of hand was simply too ridiculous to fly even with the American media. I underestimated my colleagues, alas.
