UK: Wearing of Burkas is Threat to Our Way of Life...
by
WeaselZipper
on Tue 31 Jul 2007 09:51 PM EDT

There are plenty of people in Britain that oppose the rapid Islamization of UK society. It's a shame their government didn't feel the same way...
THE sight of Muslim women dressed head to toe in burkas is unsettling enough at the best of times.
But for a large group of burka-clad women to gather outside the Old Bailey and display placards carrying slogans such as “British police go to hell” is a provocation too far.
The defendants these women were supporting were yesterday convicted of soliciting murder. They were jailed because they were identified by video evidence as ringleaders of a demonstration calling for the killing of a cartoonist who had offended Islamic sensibilities.
What chance is there of any of the women involved in yesterday’s vile display being prosecuted if their slogans are judged to be in contravention of the law? Answer: none at all because their outfits shielded their identities.

Are $20 Billion Worth of US Weapons Going to Al-Qaeda?...
by
WeaselZipper
on Tue 31 Jul 2007 09:49 PM EDT

It's a known fact that al-Qaeda has penetrated deep into all aspects of the Saudi military and intelligence agencies. Along with this, the Saudis spend billions propagating putrid Wahabbi Islam and the jihadi terror that goes with it. With all this known, why are we going through with a 20 billion dollar US weapons deal? Greed comes to mind....
An impending 20 billion dollar American arms deal with Saudi Arabia, in which the Saudis would receive state-of-the-art military equipment over the next decade, is fraught with potential dangers for Israel, former Israeli ambassador to the UN Dore Gold told Ynetnews on Tuesday.
Speaking by phone from his home in Jerusalem, Gold said the new arms deal failed to take into consideration a number of problematic scenarios. "There are a broad set of very possible scenarios that Israel certainly has to take into consideration.
Several years ago, Israel received reports of the interrogation of al-Qaeda captives who admitted that their organization had penetrated the Saudi Arabian air force, and that it was planning to take control of several Saudi F-15s based at Tabuk in north Western Saudi Arabia, near Eilat, and fly the fighter planes into sky scrapers in Tel Aviv," Gold said.

Why is Bush Betraying Iraq's Christians?...
by
WeaselZipper
on Tue 31 Jul 2007 09:46 PM EDT

I have written numerous times about the insanity of letting Iraqi Christians die while Bush has our soldiers (who are almost all Christian) do nothing. I have lost a ton of faith in Bush for doing absolutely nothing about this. With that said, this article spells it all out for us...
Conservative thinker and strategist Paul Weyrich sees a Republican political disaster in 2008 because of Iraq. "I believe that the Democrats, most likely with Senator Hillary R. Clinton (D-NY) as the nominee, will win," he says. "The Republicans, regardless of who they nominate, will lose because of the war in Iraq. Voters want to punish the Republicans for Iraq."
It's easy to see how this might develop. But the backlash could get even worse when members of the conservative Republican base begin to grasp how the Bush policy has led to the virtual destruction of the Christian community in Iraq. It is nothing less than an outrage for this to be occurring under the auspices of a conservative Republican President who claims to be a born-again Christian.

“There is a very strong group within the party that I think doesn’t take the threat of Islamist terrorism seriously enough.”

What they lack in originality they make up for in audacity. Once again, obstructionism is the name of the game as Senate liberals use the same tired playbook to block President Bush's judicial nominees. They have their marching orders from the usual suspects – Moveon.org, the ACLU, the Human Rights Campaign, People for the American Way, yada, yada – and predictably, Senate liberals are dutifully obedient. Since taking control six months ago, Democrats have approved a whopping three appellate court judges. They're not just dragging their feet; they've firmly planted them.

Smith was born to an unwed couple in 1988. Her father, Thomas Marion Smith, a former Marine and a decorated Vietnam War veteran, saw Melinda often and paid child support. When the girl was four, her mother abruptly moved without leaving a forwarding address. Two years later, Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services found that Melinda’s mother was abusing her. Though the social worker for the case noted in the file that Thomas was the father, he was never contacted, and his then 6-year-old daughter was placed in the foster care system.

himself since February 1957, when he had his first interview with the New

A new entitlement for illegals
by
Roland, the Gunslinger
on Mon 30 Jul 2007 07:08 PM EDT

Unsatisfied with thwarting a
Republican effort to authorize $3 billion for a border fence, congressional
Democrats are trying to enhance the incentive for illegal aliens to enter the United States
by removing the citizenship requirement from the popular State Children's
Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). The Republican Congress in 1996 passed
legislation blocking people who are in the country illegally from claiming
benefits from the federal government, and when SCHIP was created in 1997,
states were required to verify citizenship. But Democrats want to take that
sensible requirement for Medicaid and SCHIP and leave it to the discretion of
each state.

Yeah, I was in shock when I read the source of the article too...
"VIEWED from Iraq, where we just spent eight days meeting with American and Iraqi military and civilian personnel, the political debate in Washington is surreal. The Bush administration has over four years lost essentially all credibility. Yet now the administration’s critics, in part as a result, seem unaware of the significant changes taking place.
Here is the most important thing Americans need to understand: We are finally getting somewhere in Iraq, at least in military terms. As two analysts who have harshly criticized the Bush administration’s miserable handling of Iraq, we were surprised by the gains we saw and the potential to produce not necessarily “victory” but a sustainable stability that both we and the Iraqis could live with."

A Gut Feeling about Coffee
by
The Bartender
on Mon 30 Jul 2007 07:33 AM EDT

Earlier this year, Spanish researchers unveiled coffee as a notable source of soluble fiber. Now, a team in Germany confirms the finding and shows that beneficial gut microbes can easily digest the coffee-bean fiber left in brewed liquid and extract its energy for their growth. Because the waste products of that digestion—also called fermentation—can repel some disease-causing bacteria, the new data suggest that coffee drinking might represent more of a benefit than a vice.

More Hazleton Decision Outrage
by
Roland, the Gunslinger
on Sun 29 Jul 2007 03:20 PM EDT

In Munley’s decision, he
wrote that "Even if federal law did not conflict with Hazleton's measures,
the city could not enact an ordinance that violates rights the Constitution
guarantees to every person in the United States, whether legal resident or not."
Levying fines against those
who employ and/or house illegal aliens is NOT unconstitutional, Judge. Those acts are already, you know, AGAINST the
law.
Further, the Clinton appointee stated that Hazleton's law was at odds with current
federal immigration policy, which he said avoids "excessive
enforcement" against illegals so as not to jeopardize foreign relations. Hazleton, he said, failed
to consider "the implications of the ordinances on foreign policy."
WHAT??? Our judiciary has run so far afield that it’s
going to consider “foreign policy” relations in matters of jurisprudence?? Now THAT’S unconstitutional.
And now, top Democratic
presidential invention Barack Hussein Obama calls the decision “a victory for
all Americans”. The inmates are truly
