Dobbs registered as a Republican in Sussex County in 1991, then switched to independent in 2006. State Republican chairman Tom Wilson told the Star-Ledger that if Dobbs is seriously interested in running for governor, “the first thing he should do is register as a Republican.”
Exxon Mobil is selling its gas stations because there's no money in it. Meanwhile, two GOP congressmen do what John McCain should do — change their position on drilling in ANWR. Despite the pain at the pump for consumers, the retail side of the gasoline business isn't that profitable, if at all. Gas station owners have known this all along.
Saudi money buys a lot in Washington, even an extension of a lease to an Islamic school that graduates terrorists and teaches its students it's OK to kill non-Muslims. A federal panel wants the Islamic Saudi Academy inside the Beltway shut down for promoting hate, something we've urged for years.
These undated handout photos provided by the Justice Department show, from left, Marwan El-Hindi, Wassim Mazloum and Mohammad Amawi, which the Justice Department said Friday, June 13, 2008, that a federal jury has convicted the three Ohio men of plotting to attack U.S. soldiers in Iraq. The guilty verdicts were returned by a jury in Toledo,Ohio.
Nitra Gipson was charged with felony forgery after the Meyer Park Wal-Mart manager accused her of passing bogus money orders. Thing is, the money orders were legit and had been purchased at Wal-Mart to begin with.
It has been the objective of the left-wing bar to fight aspects of this war in our courtrooms, where it knew it would have a decent chance at victory. So complete is the Court's disregard for the Constitution and even its own precedent now that anything is possible. And what was once considered inconceivable is now compelled by the Constitution, or so five justices have ruled. I fear for my country. I really do. And AP, among others, reports this story as a defeat for "the Bush administration." Really? I see it as a defeat for the nation.
Basically, this judge is talking about how Lethal Injection is in his opinion 'unconstitutional.' But whatever he is saying is completely overwhelmed by the the picture of a Marxist killer seated next to another fellow who has been called an aspiring Marxist, Barack Obama. more»
Russert joined NBC News in 1984. In April 1985, he supervised the live broadcasts of the Today program from Rome, negotiating and arranging an appearance by Pope John Paul II - a first for American television. In 1986 and 1987 Russert led NBC News weeklong broadcasts from South America, Australia and China.
Republicans and conservatives are rallying behind Sen. John McCain's White House bid, but not because they are so enamored with him or his agenda. Instead, their loyalty is based on their perception that Illinois Sen. Barack Obama as president, particularly with large Democratic majorities in both chambers of Congress, would be utterly disastrous.
Regardless of whether you agree with them about the results of a Democratic presidential victory later this year, a McCain victory might produce its own series of domino-like events that ultimately might hurt the Grand Old Party.
Not content with one of Barack Obama’s vice-presidential vetters, Jim Johnson, resigning yesterday, John McCain reminded reporters that another member of his vice-presidential selection committee, Eric Holder, should be scrutinized as well...Mr. Rich is Marc Rich, a financier who was charged with 51 counts of tax evasion and fled to Switzerland during his prosecution. His wife Denise was a donor to President Bill Clinton, who pardoned Rich
"I am a believer in knowing what you're doing when you apply for a job. And, I think that if I were to seriously consider running on a national ticket I would essentially have to start now before having served a day in the Senate. Now, there are some people who may be comfortable doing that, but I'm not one of those people."
He was a four-star American general, the secretary of state during President George W. Bush's first term and remains a Republican. But Colin Powell said Thursday in Vancouver that he is considering voting for Democrat Barack Obama in November -- and he took shots at the Bush administration's handling of the Iraq war and the holding of terrorism suspects in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

in almost any online forum these days, conservatives are shouted down by the mindless minions of the Left. Whatever we at TheSaloon.net can do to help, we will.
Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy isn't known for his judicial modesty. But for sheer willfulness, yesterday's 5-4 majority opinion in Boumediene v. Bush may earn him a historic place among the likes of Harry Blackmun. In a stroke, he and four other unelected Justices have declared their war-making supremacy over both Congress and the White House. Boumediene concerns habeas corpus – the right of Americans to challenge detention by the government.
Claude Quétel, a French historian and Second World War specialist, was horrified when he discovered what he called a catastrophe and a shameless act. “It is a typically French failing to wipe out the traces of the past,” he told The Times. “I am indignant.”
Before the day of computers and pocket calculators all mathematics was done by hand. Great effort was expended to compose trigonometric and logarithmic tables for navigation, scientific investigation, and engineering purposes. The larger efforts involved rooms of semi skilled people, called 'computers', capable of doing reliable arithmetic who would be under the direction of a skilled mathematician.
You may want to give credit where credit is due to Al Gore and his global warming campaign the next time you fill your car with gasoline, because there is a direct connection between Global Warming and four dollar a gallon gas. It is shocking, but true, to learn that the entire Global Warming frenzy is based on the environmentalist’s attack on fossil fuels, particularly gasoline. All this big time science, international meetings, thick research papers, dire threats for the future; all of it, comes down to their claim that the carbon dioxide in the exhaust from your car and in the smoke stacks from our power plants is destroying the climate of planet Earth. What an amazing fraud; what a scam.
Charlize Theron is stunning on the cover of GQ Magazine and of course and inside the magazine she is pretty hot too.GQ described Charlize Theron as: “Hollywood’s independent woman - arguably the finest actress of her generation. The Oscar-winner talks about her tough background, her brilliant career and the enduring strangeness of international fame…”
On May 29, 2008 Accuracy in Media (aim.org)―in an article titled “The Network Behind the Bush-bashing Book”―exposed the mendacity of Scott McClellan and his editors. On May 30 Fox News reported “[Former Senator] Dole basically described the former White House press secretary as a traitor looking to cash in on the "liberal" media's distaste for President Bush.”
With my recollection refreshed by AIM, I have some painful remembrances of past treasons
"Critically, the U.S. Supreme Court has never (in Roe v. Wade or any subsequent decision) defined abortion as a fundamental constitutional right," Burke said. "FOCA goes beyond any U.S. Supreme Court decision in enshrining unlimited abortion-on-demand into American law."
