It's Time McCain Picks Up The Glove

Senator Obama's statement at a Jacksonville, Florida fundraiser last Friday is being heralded as a brilliant political move by many in the MSM. It was, in fact, a shameless and unjustified insult to all Republicans, and all Americans. The man who claims to be a different kind of politician deployed a dirty trick worthy of his upbringing in Chicago's Daley-machine. It was a sad moment in American politics...

A federal judge rejected Rep. William Jefferson’s (D-La.) request to suppress evidence gathered during an FBI search of his Louisiana home in 2005. Judge T.S. Ellis III determined that FBI agents did not abuse Jefferson’s rights during the raid because he was not arrested or held in custody. Jefferson could have terminated the interview he had with the agents at any time and could have left the house immediately when the agents started searching his home, according to the judge.

Rahn: Greedy speculators?
by

Are you aware that without speculators, most food and physical products would cost a whole lot more? Many members of Congress have been looking for the villain who is causing gasoline prices to soar (they seem to be mirror-less). A large number, mostly, but not exclusively, Democrats, have decided that speculators, or at least "greedy speculators," are the villains.

Justice Kennedy and his fellow oligarchs strike down Louisiana's death penalty for child rape as unconstitutional
by
Roland, the Gunslinger
on Wed 25 Jun 2008 08:42 PM EDT
In this case, proponents of the Louisiana law said the trend was toward the death penalty, a point mentioned by Justice Samuel Alito in his dissent.
"The harm that is caused to the victims and to society at large by the worst child rapists is grave," Alito wrote. "It is the judgment of the Louisiana lawmakers and those in an increasing number of other states that these harms justify the death penalty."

Commentary: Reasonable people can disagree as to whether the sexual assault of children, along with other despicable non-homicidal crimes — torture, say, or treason — warrant the death penalty. What is unreasonable is to dictate that the people, through their elected representatives, may not decide for themselves which of those horrific crimes deserve payment of the ultimate price.By 5 to 4, the Supreme Court has ruled capital punishment for child rapists unconstitutional. An Obama presidency will only expand the cruel and unusual majority that decides so many cases

Gizzi: Madame Pelosi on 'Hush Rush'; and filibustering FISA
by
Roland, the Gunslinger
on Wed 25 Jun 2008 08:21 PM EDT
The speaker of the House made it clear to me and more than forty of my colleagues yesterday that a bill by Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) to outlaw the “Fairness Doctrine” (which a liberal administration could use to silence Rush Limbaugh, other radio talk show hosts and much of the new alternative media) would not see the light of day in Congress during ’08. In ruling out a vote on Pence’s proposed Broadcaster's Freedom Act, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA.) also signaled her strong support for revival of the “Fairness Doctrine” -- which would require radio station owners to provide equal time to radio commentary when it is requested.

No one can predict what will happen when one superhero takes on another. Well, other than the fact that the guy whose name is on the comic book cover is going to win.
Sometimes, you don't even need that. Here are seven match-ups where one party is so clearly outmatched they make Ralph Nader seem like a safe bet.

Why Is So Much Attention Paid to These Little Tramps?
by

Regarding the 'Pregnancy Pact' of the high school girls, it's painfully obvious these little sluts from Gloucester, Massachusetts are desperately seeking attention and it's pathetic how willing the media is to help them gain it.
But when the cameras go off and they're left to fend for themselves, with or without their boyfriends, sperm donors, homeless guys, etc., to help raise the children, how much attention will they be getting?

Gawker.com: Mike Myers- International gay Man of Mystery?
by
Riley Jones
on Wed 25 Jun 2008 08:30 AM EDT
This morning's Daily News blind item—on a divorced comic star exploring a "groovy" new persona as an openly gay man—was as obvious as they get. Some of you commenters told us that the guy we were all guessing, Mike Myers, star of the "groovy baby" catchphrase-apalooza Austin Powers films and the current dud The Love Guru, has been out 'n proud in Toronto for years. Fair enough. We're not sure why it is that the Daily News would bother featuring this as a "blind item" only to use such dead giveaway clues, other than that they it would be too gauche to "out" Myers, um, outright. Seems like a bit of nasty piling-on to Myer's already miserable Love Guru bomb of a weekend.
