That doesn't fit into the media's Blackout of 'No Good News' from Iraq.

If I follow this sort of logic, I can't help but think that finding a stockpile of hydrogen and oxygen in Iraq would also then be strong evidence of them having a space program.
Yellowcake is no threat. Anybody can grind up some rocks into powder... the first nukes took the USA 1/3 of its entire electricity supply for a YEAR straight to produce. Mastery to the level of strategic and tactical nukes required an ORGY of detonations. These countries trying to build their short range firecrackers are no genuine threat to American safety - they're just a wedge that pries at American paranoia for the betterment of corporate and governmental interests. The yellowcake supposedly came from Africa... so why don't we invade them? Oh yeah, did you hear the news? North Korea tested a nuke recently, so they obviously were well beyond the yellowcake stage, and we didn't do anything except restrict their rice imports, and NOW we're talking about being friends again. Iraq posed no threat to the USA or USA interests. This war was fought to make Big Oil bigger. There's no denying either of those facts. Yellowcake isn't WMD any more than water is a man on the moon. This just exploits the public's lack of understanding of physics and chemistry. No perceivable good has come out of this war... and at what cost!? Some estimates say two trillion dollars (about 1/5th of our national debt now)... To put that into perspective: "... the final cost of project Apollo was between $20 and $25.4 Billion in 1969 Dollars (or approximately $135 Billion in 2005 Dollars)." (Wikipedia) We could have completely rerun the Apollo program (heralded as man's greatest achievement, ever) almost 15 more times with what we've spent on Iraq in the name of spreading democracy these past few years. It makes me sick! So I respectfully disagree with your cute comic and am filing this as buried. Better luck next time! Re: Re: IBD: Saddam's Nukes

OK... so how does your post relate to the cartoon? It only points out that -- despite an unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation that I didn't personally agree with either -- there are good things coming out of this mess for the Iraqi people.
Are you trying to argue that, or are you simply using it as an excuse to vent about unproven conspiracy theories? You've got plenty of facts & citations dealing with the yellowcake (mmmm, cake) and the 1960's space program, but no real information about these supposed back-room alliances with Gov't/Big Oil. Can you cite some documents or meetings or tapes about the big cabal? Re: IBD: Saddam's Nukes

You should stir yourself to mention that the facility containing the Yellowcake had been sealed by UN inspectors well prior to the start of the war and that the US knew of it long ago and also that all the Yellowcake was onsite prior to 1991.

Just FYI... the constantly-changing news ticker on the right affects your page layout every few seconds and is tremendously annoying.
