Remember the magical moonbats who tried to levitate a mint the other day? Well the mint wouldn't go up they decided it be fun to kill Michelle Malkin... how tolerant, open-minded and loving of them. The same crowd of protesters who chanted "Love, peace, justice" at the Democratic Convention also shouted "Kill Michelle Malkin" at the conservative blogger. Unhinged radio talker Alex Jones led the charge. -Riley

All the bodies showed signs of torture and were tattooed with star signs and the letter “Z”, suggesting that they had fallen victim to the country's growing drug war, which has left more than 2,700 dead so far this year... Perhaps inspired by the insurgency in Iraq, Mexican drug gangs have started to use mass beheadings as a macabre public relations tool. More>>>

Nine years ago, someone stole your wallet right out of your coat pocket. You never even saw the guy. He used your credit cards to buy $1,300 worth of shoes. Of course you reported the theft as soon as you found out, and the credit card company declared you not responsible for the debt. Lesson learned, end of story. Right? Today, you have a nice sturdy paycheck and a sound credit rating. In fact, you've got your eye on a gorgeous loft-condo. Suddenly the phone rings ... That old theft has come back to haunt you. The collection agency says that, with interest, the debt on that $1,300 now comes to more than $10,000. The agency has no record of your fraud report and considers you responsible for the debt. The agent informs you that if you don't pay up -- and soon -- you could risk legal action. And the debt could jeopardize your loan application for that condo. Surprise: You've just come face to face with zombie debt. More>>>

Sarah Palin with her husband, Todd, and her newborn son, Trig Paxson Van Palin, who is the couple's fifth child. Yesterday, following this post I made a phone call to the McCain/ Palin Campaign. After getting bounced around a bit I finally spoke with someone with some authority and asked 'does anyone plan to sue over this? I was upset when the fellow answered 'no.' I pressed him and said 'why not?' The answer was profound and I should have thought of it myself: 'This type of smearing only makes them look desperate. If this is the best they've got then I'm feeling very confident about the Senator's choice of Governor Palin. The best thing we can do with this smear is ignore it.' I got off the phone, calmed down, realized he was right and went to dinner. That being said, I can imagine that if Todd Palin is the man I think he probably is, that this sort of innuendo about his wife and daughter must be infuriating. If I were him, I would want to physically hurt someone. My hope is that he'll never hear about it and go on to enjoy being a Vice President's husband. Anyway, here's an article detailing the birth of Trig and that yes, he IS Sarah Palin's baby.-Riley More>>>

Australia's military was Friday making plans to examine the suspected remains of a World War II airman found dangling from a canopy of trees in a Papua New Guinea jungle last week, a spokesman told AFP. Hikers on the Kokoda Trail, where a bitter World War II battle was fought between Australian and Japanese forces, discovered the moss-covered body last week, tangled in parachute lines and hanging from trees in the dense jungle. Their first encounter was last February at the National Governors Association meeting in Washington. Sarah Palin was one of several governors who met privately with Sen. John McCain, by then well on his way to capturing the Republican presidential nomination, and her directness and knowledge were impressive. "Nobody was vetted less or more than anyone in the final stages, and John had access to all that information and made the decision," Davis said. "It's really not much more complicated than that." In part to blunt criticism that McCain had pulled a last-minute switch and turned to Palin without all the information he may have needed to make a decision, some of those advisers shared details yesterday about the steps that led to McCain's choice... Americans, suspicious that the Obamas have benefited from affirmative action without being properly grateful, and skeptical that Michelle really likes “The Brady Bunch” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” reject the 47-year-old black contender as too uppity and untested. Instead, they embrace 72-year-old John McCain and 44-year-old Sarah Palin, whose average age is 58, a mere two years older than the average age of the Obama-Biden ticket. Enthusiastic Republicans don’t see the choice of Palin as affirmative action, despite her thin résumé and gaping absence of foreign policy knowledge, because they expect Republicans to put an underqualified “babe,” as Rush Limbaugh calls her, on the ticket. They have a tradition of nominating fun, bantamweight cheerleaders from the West, like the previous Miss Congeniality types Dan Quayle and W., and then letting them learn on the job. So they crash into the globe a few times while they’re learning to drive, what’s the big deal? Put your claws away, Ms. Dowd. Surely you're not suggesting, based on their respective "experience", that The One, the former street activist and Illinois state house backbencher, is more capable of dealing with global affairs than Governor Palin. Please, tell me that you're not suggesting that... - Roland More>>>

The latest nationwide survey, begun Friday afternoon after the McCain announcement of Palin as running mate and completed mid-afternoon today, shows McCain/Palin at 47%, compared to 45% support for Obama/Biden.
The interactive online Zogby survey shows that both Obama and McCain have solidified the support among their own parties - Obama won 86% support of Democrats and McCain 89% of Republicans in a two-way head-to-head poll question not including the running mates. When Biden and Palin are added to the mix, Obama's Democratic support remains at 86%, while McCain's increases to 92%. After the McCain "Veep" announcement on Friday, Palin was almost immediately hailed as a strong conservative, and those voters have rallied to the GOP ticket, the survey shows. Republicans gather in St. Paul, Minnesota this week to officially nominate McCain and Palin as their presidential ticket. More>>>

As the estimated cost of measures proposed by politicians to "combat global warming" soars ever higher – such as the International Energy Council's $45 trillion – "fighting climate change" has become the single most expensive item on the world's political agenda. As Senators Obama and McCain vie with the leaders of the European Union to promise 50, 60, even 80 per cent cuts in "carbon emissions", it is clear that to realise even half their imaginary targets would necessitate a dramatic change in how we all live, and a drastic reduction in living standards. On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least:
So you see, it's funny. That New Orleans will get a hurricane. That's funny because it is due to hit when President Bush is scheduled to speak. Isn't that cool? Fowler isn't the only one who thinks so, just ask Michael Moore. We all know Democrats used and use Katrina as a political football as callously as possible. Here's a candid moment showing some can hardly wait for another one. All Class. More>>>

SHE'S just a beauty queen. She's another Dan Quayle. And ironically, the biggest criticism of Sarah Palin, John McCain's veep choice, is she has no experience. Funny, coming from the Barack Obama camp. Following McCain's announcement of Palin - the first female to be put on a GOP ticket for the White House, and only the second in US history - the Obama campaign skipped the niceties and blasted her as the "former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience." She's also a governor of Alaska (my home state), the first woman in that office and the youngest elected in state history. She has an 80-plus percent approval rating. She has turned the state upside down with her reformist zeal and has made enemies of the Republican establishment. More>>>

In an audit of durable medical equipment claims (a fraudster favorite), Medicare reportedly told the auditor only to examine the documents submitted by the companies selling the equipment. But auditors are also supposed to randomly select some claims for a deeper dive, to review the underlying medical records and see whether the claim is medically justified The limited audit found that 7.5% of claims paid by Medicare were inappropriate. But the draft report, from the inspector general of Health and Human Services, found that the actual error rate was closer to 31.5%... Are you not now convinced that we should throw away our current healthcare system in favor of one with this kind of efficiency? Is there nothing that the Federal Government can't do? - Roland More>>>

DailyKOS ran an article (Here) alleging that Sarah Palin was not pregnant this past Winter, it was actually her 16 year old daughter and possibly the result of incest, with not one shred of proof. None. The article was titled: "The Palin pregnancy" Fark.com grabs the article and posts it with the following headline: "Governor MILF faked a pregnancy to hide the fact that her 16 year old daughter was preggers, possibly as the result of incest. Boy that is going to make one heck of a porn film" If I were Sarah Palin I would sue DailyKOS for the article and Fark.com for the headline. If you want to fabricate accusations that someone within her family raped her daughter and she was part of a conspiracy to cover it up, then either back it up or print a retraction or get sued. The daughter is a minor and this is slander. The KOS kiddies love to talk about 'keepin' it real.' Well let me be clear in that I wish dueling over matters of Honor was still legal. -Riley More>>>

Obama's association with William Ayers, the unrepentant 1970s Weather Underground terrorist. More>>>

I don’t know why people love ragging on other people’s beers. You never see people this jumpy about wine coolers. But I do know how to capitalize on a trend. Here at Cracked, we take a certain pride in our ability to mock other people for many diverse reasons, ranging from their religious views to their lame superpowers. And we want to help you, the reader. Below is a simple list of arguments you can bring up when drinking at the bar, on the beach or in the sauna, which will help you prove conclusively why the beer you’re drinking makes your genitals ten times larger than the other guy (or girl.) When a hockey mom named Sarah Palin ran for governor as a Republican outsider in 2006, she took on not only a sitting governor from her own party but also Alaska's Republican establishment -- vowing to clean up a political system that had been rocked by an Federal Bureau of Investigation corruption probe. After handily winning, her popularity in Alaska soared as she went on to sack political appointees with close ties to industry lobbyists... More>>>

William Kristol: A spectre is haunting the liberal elites of New York and Washington--the spectre of a young, attractive, unapologetic conservatism, rising out of the American countryside, free of the taint (fair or unfair) of the Bush administration and the recent Republican Congress, able to invigorate a McCain administration and to govern beyond it. That spectre has a name--Sarah Palin, the 44-year-old governor of Alaska chosen by John McCain on Friday to be his running mate. There she is: a working woman who's a proud wife and mother; a traditionalist in important matters who's broken through all kinds of barriers; a reformer who's a Republican; a challenger of a corrupt good-old-boy establishment who's a conservative; a successful woman whose life is unapologetically grounded in religious belief; a lady who's a leader. For grins... her nickname on her high school basketball team was "Sarah Barracuda." More>>>

Eric Barone, who broke the world speed record for mountain biking in Nov 4, 2001, tried to break it again by riding down Cerro Negro volcano in Nicaragua. Seconds into his descent, Barone's bicycle snapped in two, hurtling the cyclist down the volcano. "It looked as if there was a rock or something in the path that made the bicycle break in two," said one of Barone's assistants. His first run was on a standard Mountain Bike and he smashed the previous world record (set by himself a couple of years earlier) by recording a speed of 101mph. His second run, on a specially modified bike ended in this spectacular crash. He broke several ribs and his sternum but was lucky to be alive. He had crossed the speed sensor when the crash happened which recorded his speed at 107mph. |
