The Saloon dot net :: Follow Up: The Attempted Palin Smear

I made a phone call to the McCain/ Palin Campaign. After getting bounced around a bit I finally spoke with someone with some authority and asked 'does anyone plan to sue over this? I was upset when the fellow answered 'no.' I pressed him and said 'why not?' The answer was profound and I should have thought of it myself: 'This type of smearing only makes them look desperate. If this is the best they've got then I'm feeling very confident about the Senator's choice of Governor Palin. The best thing we can do with this smear is ignore it.'

I got off the phone, calmed down, realized he was right and went to dinner. That being said, I can imagine that if Todd Palin is the man I think he probably is, that this sort of innuendo about his wife and daughter must be infuriating. If I were him, I would want to physically hurt someone. My hope is that he'll never hear about it and go on to enjoy being a Vice President's husband.

Makes sense. The left is in full-on attack mode right now and they only get in to this kind of frenzy when they're scared of something. Picking on Palin and her family, to the point of using her Downs Syndrome little boy to ridicule not only Palin but the entire political opposition, only exposes them as the disgusting mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers that they are. We need to keep them as far away from the levers of power as possible. Thanks for pursuing this, Riley. Good on ya...

This attack by the left does look desperate. I'm sure the Obama campaign and legitimate newspapers won't touch it. It will die as it should. The only thing that weirds me out as a mother is Sarah's decision to (a) give a speech and (b) fly eight hours --- both after her water broke. That jeopardized her own health and her baby's. And it's true, the article you linked to shows that she really did it. But it is her baby and allegations to the contrary are pure desperation.

Wait a minute. What's this sudden faux concern over the water breaking and the flying all of a sudden? I thought that a pregnant woman is free to do whatever she wants with her body. Or is that only an issue when she wants to terminate the life of the baby? I get confused. You know what? When the left STOPS assailing us with this tired canard, then I'll share in the concern over Governor Palin's decision to fly.

After a woman had had a few kids with no known complications, squeezing out a few more becomes like a trip to Starbucks. Meaning, she knew what she was doing.
