Now that ex-senator John Edwards' affair with filmmaker Rielle Hunter has been confirmed by his own admission, a series of "webisodes" Hunter made for his campaign are filled with messages and music that could be interpreted as a satirical indictment of Edwards character, made by a woman pointing out hypocrisy. "It would seem that Edwards and his staff never listened to the lyrics," wrote Roger Friedman of Fox News. "It's as damning a choice as Hunter could have selected." The first webisode, called "Plane Truths", opens with Edwards saying, "I've come to the conclusion that I want the country to see who I am, who I really am. A public interest group that prosecutes government corruption announced an investigation into a left-leaning group that is warning contributors to conservative causes this election year about "potential dangers, including legal trouble, public exposure and watchdog groups digging through their lives."
Officials with Judicial Watch today said its investigation into Accountable America would focus on a nationwide effort by the "liberal activist group to intimidate supporters of Republican and conservative causes," because those activities may fall under a key federal civil rights law known as the Ku Klux Klan Act. Russian military aircraft have raided a Georgian town, leaving scores of civilians killed or wounded. An Associated Press reporter who visited the town of Gori shortly after the Russian raid Saturday saw several apartment buildings ravaged by the Russian strike and scores of dead bodies and bloodied civilians, including elderly people, women and children. Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital early Saturday morning, according to Sun-Times Columnist, Stella Foster. He was 50. Though the cause of death has not been confirmed, Mac had been hospitalized recently for pneumonia. Foster said that she received calls early Saturday morning from a close friend of the Mac family, confirming the reports of Mac's death. More>>>
