If people worry how Sarah Palin will stack up against Joe Biden as a campaigner, perhaps this video clip of Biden introducing Barack Obama yesterday in Pennsylvania might help answer it. Biden struggles to articulate his words, offers a weird version of his childhood move out of Scranton, and in general comes across a little buffoonish:

Police investigating suspicious activity at a home just south of the U.S.-Mexican border found a group of men digging a secret tunnel to the United States — complete with lights, an elevator and air-conditioning. The sophisticated tunnel is one of 70 discovered since 2000. More>>>

The moment the McCain camp confirmed it had chosen Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as its choice for VP, conservatives, females and many mothers across the country rejoiced. She brought so many positives that I couldn’t help but wonder how long it would take the left to dig for the negatives. Shortly after the announcement a friend asked me “when do you think the weird, rural farmer’s daughter rumors will start? More>>>

The national media are based in New York and Washington, D.C., and don't always get the rest of the country as they should. That may help explain the coverage of Sarah and Bristol Palin. John McCain asked for, and got, a perfect storm of ignorance and condescension when he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. Geographically, politically and culturally, Palin is about as far from Manhattan and the Beltway as you can get. More>>>

Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War, the same number of deferments received by Vice President Dick Cheney, and later was disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager. More>>>

Red State: Back in 2005, Democrats used Michael Steele's social security number to get his credit record. It is atrocious that the Democrats would not only seek out Sarah Palin's social security number, but release it in opposition research to the press. Hat tip to our man Steve! More>>>

Investigators said Tuesday a 22-year-old man, being questioned in an unrelated case, admitted suffocating Pravia and stealing his cell phone, laptop computer and iPod. They expected to charge the man in Pravia's death, said Paul Browne, deputy commissioner of public information for the New York Police Department. The man claimed Pravia approached him in Union Square park around 6 a.m. Saturday looking for drugs and the two went to his apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood. After the slaying, the man, whose identity wasn't disclosed, stayed in the apartment to watch the gory horror film "Saw" before leaving before 11 a.m., police said. More>>>

“My understanding is that Gov. Palin’s town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We've got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year – we have a budget of about three times that just for the month,” Obama responded. More>>>

Marshall admitted to having written (an autobiographical, pornographic book, "Sex Rebel:Black," under the pseudonym "Bob Greene.), which he said describes factual sexual encounters that he and his wife had with minors and other couples. "I could not then truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine," said Davis. The Telegraph states that, "In the introduction to Sex Rebel, Davis explains that although he has "changed names and identities...all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences." Marshall's book describes, in lurid detail, his sexual encounters, including multiple group encounters with his wife and a 13 year old girl: "I'm not one to go in for Lolitas. Usually I'd rather not bed a babe under 20. But there are exceptions. I didn't want to disappoint the trusting child. At her still-impressionistic age, a rejection might be traumatic, could even cripple her sexually for life." The Dutch intelligence service, the AIVD, has called off an operation aimed at infiltrating and sabotaging Iran's weapons industry due to an assessment that a US attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program is imminent, according to a report in the country's De Telegraaf newspaper on Friday. The report claimed that the Dutch operation had been "extremely successful," and had been stopped because the US military was planning to hit targets that were "connected with the Dutch espionage action." The impending air-strike on Iran was to be carried out by unmanned aircraft "within weeks," the report claimed, quoting "well placed" sources. The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the De Telegraaf report More>>>

A Pakistani lawmaker defended a decision by northwestern tribesmen to bury five women alive because they wanted to choose their own husbands, telling stunned members of Parliament to spare him their outrage. "These are centuries-old traditions, and I will continue to defend them," Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, told The Associated Press Saturday. More>>>

And as Fark.com continues and expands as a mouth piece for the Far and Angry Left, users of the once popular website drop me emails like this: "I lurked a bit on TF (TotalFark) yesterday in between stints of looking at the local news on the internet, and I guess what struck me is what a human cesspool that place has become in the past year. There are a lot of real ---holes there, and I notice most of them are die-hard Obama supporters. It's probably more because they are young and have some sort of chips on their shoulder, but I really need to evaluate the time I spend arguing with those ----s. Life is way too short to bother with people like that. Just a random observation." Agreed. And who does Fark.com attack today? Bristol Palin's fiance. An 18 year old kid who plays hockey and enjoys fishing, whom they label a 'Dumbass.' And they link to a website out Britain which has decided to play 'pile on' against the first woman ever nominated as a Republican VP. And no, I'm not linking to Drew Curtis' online trailer park and sending one bit of traffic in his sleazy direction. I am wondering how Drew would like it if we went through his background and talked about all the strip bars where he hung out in his younger days or perhaps some of the strippers he may have tried to date. That would be fair, right Drew? -Riley

Michelle Malkin: If a Democrat mom chooses public office, she’s a patriot Wonder Woman imbued with Absolute Moral Authority on children’s, health, and social welfare issues.
If a Republican mom chooses public office, she’s the child-neglecting spawn of Satan who has no business debating any domestic public policy because of alleged hypocrisy. Ain’t feminism grand? More>>>

A European court says the idea a new supercollider project could create a "celestial vacuum" and eventually consume the Earth is worth discussing, but the project can move forward on schedule anyway. At dispute is what could happen should planned experiments at the supercollider built near Geneva by the European Organization for Nuclear Research, or CERN, go awry when the massive atomic particle smasher is fired up about this time next week. Fishing permit violations. A blue-collar husband who racked up a DUI citation as a 22-year-old. An unmarried teenage daughter who is pregnant and a nasty child custody battle involving a family member. All of this, to one degree or another, has surfaced in recent days as a result of efforts to discredit or undermine Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But these revelations may have the opposite effect: In one sense, they could reinforce how remarkably unremarkable she is. More>>> |
