Since his vice presidential nomination, Joe Biden's 2007 statement that a "guy who allegedly ... drank his lunch" and drove the truck that struck and killed his first wife and daughter has gained national media traction.
Alcohol didn't play a role in the 1972 crash, investigators found. But as recently as last week, the syndicated TV show Inside Edition aired a clip from 2001 of Biden describing the accident to an audience at the University of Delaware and saying the truck driver "stopped to drink instead of drive."
Legendary Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens recently detailed his plan to wean America off foreign oil by blanketing the Great Plains with wind turbines. But Pickens also has a lesser-known plan that is centered on another commodity, one every bit as vital to America's future as energy—water. If it all works out, his water plan could remake Pickens as a whole new kind of baron.
FTA: The NY Times is dispatching a group of its top “investigative journalists”, fanning them across the State of Alaska looking for dirt on Palin and Republicans in a desperate bid to take the wheels off of John McCain’s little red wagon...The subscription and advertising-challenged NY Times is ponying up to pay scandal mongerers to bring them the dirt. All that means is that journalists from the Big Apple will be holed up at the nearest Alaskan bar with whatever scandal mongerers they think can be bought off for the price of a few beers.
Okay, here's my Republican Convention story. After I did my little tiny bit of reporting work from St. Paul's Xcel Center on Wednesday, I got into a taxi to head back to my hotel. Of course we got stuck in traffic. I asked my driver, a rugged looking fellow, where he was from and how he was enjoying the convention. It was as if I had uncorked a bottle of champagne. "Have you ever heard of Ogaden?" he asked me.
From Cracked.com "If you’ve visited digg.com at any point over the past two weeks, you’ve probably seen a ton of articles about Sarah Palin. Various scandals she may be involved in. Various scandals she someday will be involved in. Hilarious Daily Show clips describing her laughable inadequacy as a candidate. Still, one issue has been tragically absent from all of these articles, so I’m gonna go ahead and be brave and say what everyone else is thinking but is too afraid to say:
I want to see Sarah Palin naked. Without any of her clothes on."
This will anger you which is why I'm posting it. These 'guttersnipes' never quit... Sexism? On the internet? Color me SHOCKED! (end sarcasm) -Riley
My personal favorite #7: "But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people." -- Sarah Palin
Stuart Brody of the University of the West of Scotland in collaboration with colleagues in Belgium studied 16 female Belgian university students. Subjects completed a questionnaire on their sexual behavior and were then videotaped from a distance while walking in a public place.
Perhaps most stunning is the fact that Palin’s favorable ratings are now a point higher than either man at the top of the Presidential tickets this year. As of Friday morning, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters. Obama and McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters. Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.
Just moments after MSNBC aired the Republican convention's video tribute to victims of 9/11, shown at about 8:40pm EDT Thursday night (September 4), Keith Olbermann offered this angry rebuke of his own network for doing so (CNN and PBS also aired it):
Besides being a blowhard, a proven plagiarist, an alleged crook and full-time party-hack attack dog, it now seems that Joe Biden has shown himself to be Obama's official Vice Appeaser when it comes to dealing with the world's evil empires. To that end, he will be the perfect compliment to Appeaser-in-Chief Barak Obama, should Obama get elected, God forbid. Biden told Israeli officials that they need to accept the idea Iran will acquire nuclear weapons.
Savages on far left blogs, along with cohorts in some of the mainstream media, have stopped at nothing to invade Sarah Palin's privacy and vilify her family. Unapologetic, overt sexism runs swiftly through the blogosewer. Palin has five children, doesn't like abortion, and her teenage daughter will keep her child and wed the father. Apparently, to an alarming number of antagonists on the left, this makes Palin something less
FTA- An estimated 123 people were shot and killed over the summer. That's nearly double the number of soldiers killed in Iraq over the same time period.
In May, cbs2chicago.com began tracking city shootings and posting them on Google maps. Information compiled from our reporters, wire service reports and the Chicago Police Major Incidents log indicated that 123 people were shot and killed throughout the city between the start of Memorial Day weekend on May 26, and the end of Labor Day on Sept. 1.
Well, looks like all of Obama & Friends community organizing efforts made a difference-Not.
