The New York Times wrote during campaign 2008 that late night comics were having a hard time cracking jokes about Barack Obama. This year, President Obama was treated with kid gloves. Leno, Letterman and Conan largely stood in a cone of silence when it came to prodding the Prez. But after scandals and bumbled policy initiatives, the once-airtight Obama spin control has given way to a White House spinning out-of-control. Late Night TV finally rises to the occasion — and the honeymoon is officially over. More>>>

Yes, there are death panels. Its members won't even know whose deaths they are causing. But under the health care bill sponsored by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, Montana Democrat, death panels will indeed exist - oh so cleverly disguised as accountants. The offending provision is on Pages 80-81 of the unamended Baucus bill, hidden amid a lot of similar legislative mumbo-jumbo about Medicare payments to doctors. The key sentence: "Beginning in 2015, payment would be reduced by five percent if an aggregation of the physician's resource use is at or above the 90th percentile of national utilization." Translated into plain English, it means that in any year in which a particular doctor's average per-patient Medicare costs are in the top 10 percent in the nation, the feds will cut the doctor's payments by 5 percent. In a discussion on CNBC about the larger than expected September job losses reported Friday by the Labor Department, Reich was explaining to hosts Melissa Francis and Lawrence Kudlow how things would be much worse if not for the stimulus package. He also implied that things won't get better until healthcare is reformed. In the middle of this absolutely absurd statement, Francis and Kudlow appeared to look at each other with the former breaking out into laughter and the latter doing his best to hold it back. More>>>

Most Americans say they are worried about Iran developing a nuclear weapons program, and think President Obama should be tougher on the rogue nation. In addition, a clear majority supports the use of force to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. According to a new FOX News poll released Thursday, a sizable 69 percent majority of Americans thinks President Obama has not been tough enough on Iran. That includes over half of Democrats (55 percent), two-thirds of independents (67 percent) and almost all Republicans (88 percent). More>>>

FTA- Ebert starts off with a disclaimer that he is ‘not referring to traditional conservatives or Republicans', but quickly follows that up with ‘they're part of the process'. This is liberal code for ‘I am indeed referring to all conservatives and Republicans'. How can one tell? The entire piece goes on to categorize Republicans in general, using such phrases as ‘mainstream Republican party', ‘Republicans are on the wrong side of another issue', and so on - thus revealing the code. You can kiss my "increasingly older, blue collar, less affluent, more unemployed, less educated" ass. Why don't you join your Hollywood pals and go bust Polanski out of jail you overrated hack?
