Joe Scarborough, who is truly a class act on every level, asks Conservatives in general, and Republicans specifically, to 'be nice' to Barack Obama.
Mr. Scarborough, Mr. Bush outstretched a hand in friendship to the Left and pulled back a bloody nub, a failed Presidency and crippled conservative movement. Don't waste your time asking us to be nice to them or their President. They are a pack of liars, thieves, narcissists and overall scum- they are Not Americans as they do not think of America, only themselves. We appreciate your conciliatory and truly patriotic approach towards the man who now occupies the White House, but the people and groups Mr. Obama is aligned with are without honor or decency. From burning our troops in effigy, to defending the acts of rapists and killers, like Roman Polanski and Mumia Jabal, Barack Obama is a fool or worse. They showed George Bush no quarter or loyalty during his presidency . They ridiculed Sarah Palin's family, especially two of her daughters and following the election, they firebombed her church. So screw Barack Obama and his un-American supporters. RJ More>>>

It would be difficult for me to say how much I disliked the season opener of House, but let me try. For one season, its first, House was a great television show. The idea itself was a masterstroke. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was said to have based his great fictional detective Sherlock Holmes on one of his medical professors, Dr. Joseph Bell, who could apparently diagnose illness through his brilliant powers of observation and deduction. I assume writer David Shore figured he’d back-engineer the character, and so re-created Holmes as a brilliant diagnostician. As homage, he gave his hero an almost synonymous name (although a House is not quite a Holmes, nyuk-nyuk), made him a drug addict like Sherlock and even gave him Sherlock’s address, 221B. More>>>

…and it is us! We are proud! We are united! We are loyal! We are kind and giving! We are decent! We are diverse! We are always seeking to improve ourselves and lift others! We are always the first ones to show up in time of need-anywhere in the world! We are the most powerful country in the world-but we are not bullies! We are family! We are friends and neighbors! We are Americans and we are without a doubt the best example of a free people the world has ever seen-period. More>>>

On the Western Front: The British 1st Corps of the BEF take over responsibility for an appropriate section of the Franco-Belgian frontier. French forces complete their withdrawal from advanced positions in German territory (the Warndt Forest and the Saarbrucken Salient). In Poland The last significant units of the Polish army surrender near Luck. The Germans have taken 700,000 prisoners and the Soviets 200,000. Polish casualties have been severe. The Germans have lost 10,000 dead and 30,000 wounded. Many Poles have escaped and will gradually find their way to the west. Although tank units have played a notable part in the campaign, it is interesting to note that the contemporary German official appreciation lay more stress on the traditional-style infantry battles. The tank forces are seen at this stage, except by enthusiasts like Guderian, as little more than useful auxiliaries who can help the infantry do the real work. The first plans for the attack in the west will reflect this official attitude. Meanwhile, the German 10th Army begins to redeploys from Poland to the west. 55 Polish peasants are rounded up and shot at Truskolasy by the Nazis. The Germans start construction of Stutthof concentration camp in which 65,000 Polish Christians will ultimately perish. Scandanavia: Norway's King Haakon VI proclaims the neutrality of his country. Finland declares strict neutrality. Denmark issues a declaration of neutrality. Sweden issues a declaration of neutrality. German Ministers at Stockholm, Sweden, and Oslo, Norway, give a declaration that Germany would respect the integrity of Sweden and Norway. In Britain Chamberlain dismisses recent German peace proposals outright.

Ricky Gervais has launched his second consecutive box office bomb as The Invention of Lying (Warner Bros) only mustered $2.2M or so to start the 3-day. The comedy should finish #5 with approximately $6.5M for the weekend. … [B]ut the biggest disappointment of the weekend is Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story (Overture). After a $57K per theatre average on 4 screens last weekend, the picture broke to a wider 962 locations with terrible results. The “documentary” only sold an estimated $1.3M in tickets to start the weekend, and it will finish at about $3.9M for a PTA of less than $4,000. That soft opening will almost certainly make Capitalism Moore’s weakest-grossing movie since 2002’s Bowling for Columbine ($21.5M domestic gross). More>>>
