The Saloon dot net :: Welfare-$$ Shock Seen

The massive economic-stimulus plans in Congress dramatically lowball the real amount of increased welfare spending - with one estimate predicting it may be more than triple the forecasts, according to a new report. The true welfare cost could be as much as $787 billion, not the $264 billion that supporters have claimed, the study by the conservative Hertitage Foundation found.
