View Article  Bombshell: Orders revoked for soldier challenging prez - Major victory for Army warrior questioning Obama's birthplace

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment
to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.

His attorney, Orly Taitz, confirmed to WND the military has rescinded his impending deployment orders.

"We won! We won before we even arrived," she said with excitement. "It means that the military has nothing to show for Obama. It means that the military has directly responded by saying Obama is illegitimate – and they cannot fight it. Therefore, they are revoking the order!"

She continued, "They just said, 'Order revoked.' No explanation. No reasons – just revoked."

A hearing on the questions raised by Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, an engineer who told WND he wants to serve his country in Afghanistan, was scheduled for July 16 at 9:30 a.m.

"As an officer in the armed forces of the United States, it is [my] duty to gain clarification on any order we may believe illegal. With that said, if President Obama is found not to be a 'natural-born citizen,' he is not eligible to be commander-in-chief," he told WND only hours after the case was filed.

"[Then] any order coming out of the presidency or his chain of command is illegal. Should I deploy, I would essentially be following an illegal [order]. If I happened to be captured by the enemy in a foreign land, I would not be privy to the Geneva Convention protections," he said.

(Another big ol' hat tip to our eagle-eyed pal Semra for catching this one!)

View Article  House Maniacs Push Making Health Care a Right

House Democratic leaders, pledging to meet the president's goal of health care legislation before their August break, are offering a $1.5 trillion plan that for the first time would make health care a right and a responsibility for all Americans. Left to pick up most of the tab were medical providers, employers and the wealthy.

"We cannot allow this issue to be delayed. We cannot put it off again," Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce committee, said Tuesday. "We, quite frankly, cannot go home for a recess unless the House and the Senate both pass bills to reform and restructure our health care system."

(As the national economy staggers through the worst recession in decades, the maniacal left in Washington seem bent on seeing it collapse with its ridiculous cap and trade...and now another behemoth comes along: health care. "Reform" that will chase away private insurers, cause employers to lay off more workers creating even higher unemployment, and force the economy ultimately to its knees. Nevermind that rationing of health care is an inevitability in any single payer system. Who cares if the sick and elderly can't get care, right? Mom? Dad? Kid sister with cancer? That's just gonna have to be the cost of having universal health care, right? Too bad for them, right? Got your own insurance, you say? Gee, that's too bad, because you're not going to be able to keep it. At least the few honest lefties will admit that much. Private insurance will not be able to compete. Period. Get it out of your head. They will not stay in business. We'll tax the hell out of the rich! you say? Great idea, Einstein. How much longer do you think the rich are going to stick around while Uncle Sugar sucks away at their "fortunes"? You know, the rich folks making 200k a year. That's right, 200k a year is "rich" according to Obama and his pals in Congress. And, guess what: that figure will have to come down because there aren't enough "rich" people in the country to pay for any of this. Here endeth the rant. - Roland)

View Article  Prepare to Meet the Taxman
Congress is worried. Deficits are climbing. So legislators have decided to make a thorough review of the endless duplicative programs and wasteful outlays that fill the federal budget.

Hah, hah, hah! No, Congress plans on beefing up the IRS to squeeze more money out of people so legislators can keep wasting money.

Reports OMB Watch:

Congress is preparing to substantially increase the enforcement resources of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the FY 2010 Financial Services appropriations bill,

View Article  Sotomayor's self-contradictions

After two days of hearings for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, it appears that her strategy for confirmation is to contradict herself at every turn. She spent much of yesterday claiming not to have meant the things she actually said or not to have ruled the way she actually ruled. For the first time, therefore, it is not just her judgment but also her integrity that is in question.

View Article  Cap and trade - The path to ‘global governance’

It’s been nearly a year since President Barack Obama spoke in Berlin as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president. There, he described himself as not merely a citizen of the United States, but as a “fellow citizen of the world.” What was originally a rhetorical flourish has become a particularly revealing indicator of the president’s sentiments on national sovereignty.

Look no further than Monday’s seemingly unnoticed report from the American Petroleum Institute that oil and natural gas drilling activities in the U.S. fell nearly 46 percent in the second quarter from a year ago. Drilling now stands at its lowest level since 2003. A small portion of this change is attributable to a drop in the price of oil, but the elephant in the room is Obama-Waxman-Markey, the cap-and-trade, anti-global warming energy bill that recently passed the House and is now pending in the Senate. Energy companies know that legislation is aimed directly at them and are reducing drilling operations accordingly.

And for what? This is a sacrifice that will force American consumers to pay much higher energy bills. Yet, cap-and-trade proponents seem startlingly comfortable with the fact that no such sacrifice is ahead for the rest of the world. Former Vice President Al Gore happily announced that cap and trade would drive change through “global governance and global agreements.”

View Article  PRUDEN: Franken, a clown for all seasons, arrives in time

Some of the Democrats can't wait to see what mischief they can do. "With the Minnesota recount complete," Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York said after the Minnesota robbery was completed, "it is now clear that Al Franken won the election."

Actually, it wasn't clear at all, but clarity is never valued among thieves. The Democrats in the Senate were eager to get Al seated quickly, both for crucial Senate votes coming up and because once seated among his equals, a bum is difficult to throw out.

There's honor among the members of our only native criminal class, similar to the honor among robbers, burglars and other servants of the night. The difference, and it's only a slight one, is that robbers, burglars and thieves often hold themselves to higher standards than members of Congress.

Last year at the annual 27 July celebrations of Naval Fleet Day, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, boasted that the Russian Navy would add six aircraft carrier battle groups to its complement of warships. Construction of these ships, he said, would begin in 2012 with three of the carriers to be assigned to the Northern Fleet and the other three to the Pacific Fleet.
